I am seamoss, also known as sea moss, and I grow in the ocean along rocky shores. When soaked, I turn into a soft gel. I am a pure and versatile product from the sea.

With delicate fronds and a deep pink colour, Irish Moss has a long history in Western cuisine. It is harvested by hand where it is cut just above the root to ensure the re-growth of the algae. This family of Irish Moss (red seaweeds) is characterized by the presence of carrageen in their cell walls. Chondrus Crispus is used to produce Wild Irish Seaweed carrageen.
