Ashwagandha is naturally unprotected and susceptible to degradation in the harsh environment of the digestive system. To prevent this, Zooki has developed a method to encapsulate ashwagandha in "liposomes"—tiny bubbles composed of the same building blocks as cell walls. These liposomes form a protective shield around the ashwagandha, protecting it from stomach acid and enhancing its absorption through the gut wall into the bloodstream.
