Bladderwrack is a type of “brown” sea vegetable commonly found on both sides of the North Atlantic. It is rich in minerals, vitamins, iodine, and bioactive compounds such as fucoidan. Bladderwrack also contains both soluble and insoluble fiber and protein. The iodine content is substantial but more moderate than in some other kinds of sea vegetables, particularly kelp.
