Whole Leaf Dulse is soft and tough, with a distinctive flavor and a rich red color. It does not require soaking or cooking, making it a great snack to taste straight from the bag. It is a colorful salad ingredient; is tasty in soups; spicy when baked and increases the taste of a sandwich-creation.
MCSV dulse comes from the waters off Grand Manan Island, New Brunswick, Canada. Those waters are part of the Atlantic ocean, and more specifically, the Gulf of Maine.
The Organic certification process ensures that the dulse is grown and processed without the use of synthetic chemicals, fertilizers, antibiotics, or hormones. And, that it is grown without genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
The dulse harvesters and MCSV are inspected annually and are required to keep detailed records of all handling and processing procedures to ensure compliance with Organic certification requirements.
