I am small pieces of crushed cacao beans, pure and unprocessed. Naturally containing fibre, minerals and antioxidants. My flavour is intense and slightly bitter, with a crunchy bite that brings pure cacao to life.
Cacao nibs - A tasty bite!
Cacao beans are the seeds of the cocoa tree and the origin of everything that contains chocolate. The original inhabitants of America called cacao beans 'The food of the gods' and in many cultures they were even used as currency and medicine. But due to heating (the common way in the production of cacao and chocolate products), many nutrients are lost.
Raw, unheated cacao nibs are small pieces of the cacao bean. Raw cacao contains more than twelve hundred components and is therefore one of the most complex substances on earth. Contains magnesium, zinc, sulfur, chromium and vitamin C.
